2018 Family Conference: Abounding in Hope!

July 24 – 27, 2018

On behalf of the pastors and members of Grace Reformed Baptist Church in Mebane, NC, we warmly invite you to our 2018 Family Conference at Ridgecrest Conference Center in Asheville, North Carolina!


There are three options for the Program Fee:

  • $70.00 Single Adult
  • $85.00 Couple
  • $100.00 Family with children

    • The program fee is non-refundable, though in special circumstances (medical emergency, etc.) a full refund will be offered.
    • It would be very helpful if you can register as soon as possible. We at GRBC have to finalize and commit to a certain number of rooms by April, 2018.

Pastor Gary Hendrix
Pastor Gary Hendrix has served at Grace Reformed Baptist, Mebane, NC, for over 45 years as the primary preaching pastor. He grew up in Winston-Salem, NC and attended Piedmont Bible College (now Piedmont International University). He was called to Grace Reformed in 1970 while still completing his studies at Piedmont. Gary is married to Sherry who served as the church secretary for over 40 years. Gary and Sherry have three children and eight grandchildren.

Pastor Cal Walden
Pastor Cal Walden has been the full-time preaching and teaching elder since the Reformed Baptist Church of Lenawee’s beginning in 1986. He graduated from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC and Trinity Ministerial Academy, Montville, NJ. Calvin is married to Tricia. They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
Pastor Salvador Gomez
Pastor Salvador Gomez was born and raised in a non-Christian home and was the youngest of four siblings. He was saved by God’s grace at the age of 16. He graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering and also graduated from Trinity Ministerial Academy in Montville, NJ, where he studied for four years. He has been one of the elders at Iglesia Bíblica del Señor Jesucristo in the DR since 1997, where he has the responsibility of preaching God’s Word every Sunday. He has been a guest speaker at national and international conferences. He was a professor at Logos Ministerial Academy of IBSJ, where he taught Hermeneutics, Biblical Exegesis, Greek, Introduction to the New Testament, and the Doctrine of Man, Christ and Salvation, among others. He was on the Board of Directors of Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary (CBTS) in Owensboro, KY. He is also the author of the book Friend of Sinners and writes articles for his blog https://www.elsonidodelaverdad.blogspot.com. Salvador is married to Johanny and is the father of four children: Mónica, Javier, Verónica and Gabriel.


Teaching Session

(Actual schedule may vary.)

The conference will follow our customary pattern, with classes available for children 10 and under during the two morning sessions, followed by organized activities throughout the afternoon and a closing session for all ages in the evening. A staffed nursery will be provided for children 2 and under, and is available for all sessions. Check-in will run from 3-5pm on Tuesday afternoon, followed by dinner and an evening session, and close with lunch on Friday.

Reservation is by individual call-in only. There is no option for room reservation online at this time.

All our rooms have been reserved in the Mountain Laurel buildings. All rooms are equipped with two queen beds. Two of these Queen rooms are handicap accessible. There are a few King rooms available. Please check with Ridgecrest when you call to make your reservations.

Room rates are quoted per-night, and vary depending on how many adults (18+) are in the room, whether Single, Double, Triple, or Quad. Children under 18 stay in the room free of charge.

Please Note:
When you call Ridgecrest to reserve your room, a deposit is required for one night’s room rental. This deposit is refundable, less a $10/room processing fee if canceling 60 or more days prior to arrival, one half refundable if canceling 30-59 days prior to arrival, and non-refundable if canceling less than 30 days prior to arrival.

The conference center charges a one-time Usage fee of $25 per person (12 years and older) for any conferees wishing to stay off campus. That fee will be waived if our room allotment runs out and off-campus accommodations are required. RV accommodations are also available for a nominal fee.

  • Friday: Breakfast and Lunch

For all meals the rate is $105 per person for adult and youth, Children ages 6-11 at at rate if $54 per person. Children under six eat free.

For Lunch only for three days the rate is $36 per person for adult and youth, Children ages 6-11 at at rate if $18 per person. Children under six eat free.

There are no refunds on missed meals. Meals will be charged at current a-la-carte rates for those who break the contracted meal package.

Meals are served in a dining room. We will announce the times the meals are served when you check in on July 24.


Miniature Golf

We plan to organize activities for the older children and any interested adults. Ridgecrest also offers a number of on-campus options for recreation.

Ridgecrest functions as a normal hotel, allowing for per-guest reservation of hotel rooms beyond the set dates for the conference, at a discounted rate. If you would like to extend your stay at Ridgecrest to explore nearby Asheville, the Biltmore Estate or the Blue Ridge Mountains, please ask at the time of your reservation if rooms are available before or after the Conference.
