Dear Brethren,

An article from National Review was recently brought to my attention. I shared it with the elders and it was suggested that I share it with all of you. The article is written by a professing evangelical Christian and contains some very helpful analysis of the present state of things both in the church and in our nation.

I find it particularly challenging to be reminded that whatever else we are doing as Christians and Christian churches, we must maintain an explicit proclamation of the gospel and we must be different from the world in the way that we live. If we do good but fail to preach the gospel, if we mobilize politically but leave off missions, if we meet regularly but live like the world, we have become something other than the church of Jesus Christ.

May God help us to remain faithful to our calling as Christ’s church, serious in the pursuit of holiness and zealous in the completion of that Great Commission Christ charged us to fulfill until His return.
