68 years ago today: A Day Americans must never forget!

D-Day

We are being forced by Providence to think of death and dying.  68 years ago today 1000s of young Americans were forced to confront death in a most frightening way in order to defeat a most evil enemy.  An unthinkable number died or were lost and never found.  Without their sacrifices, our national history might have been decidedly different.  If their sacrifice had not been necessary, if we had enjoyed their presence and leadership through a normal life-time our history would be  better than it is now!  So many leaders, husbands, dads…so many brothers in Christ and potential servants of the Gospel lost that day!

As often said, “freedom is not free”.  We should praise God that He provided our nation so many brave young men and women when our freedom was so desperately threatened.  And, for those who survive, may God make His Son and the freedom He died to purchase more precious to you than life itself.  Thank you.
