The Good News of Jesus Christ

The rich colors of a sunset on the ocean call us to think about the beauty of God. The rugged mountains inspire in us a sense of His majesty. The vast starry night sky declares His glory. We learn a lot about God from nature. [1] We learn that He is awesome in power. He is eternal in being. He is the Creator, and He created us. We intuitively know that He is righteous, just, and good. We often know when we've done something bad in His sight. [2]

There is something very important about God, however, that we can't learn from nature: we can't learn from nature the conditions under which God will forgive us of our bad deeds; moreover, our study of nature can't change our hearts to love God as we ought. We must study the Bible alone to learn the conditions under which God will change us and forgive us.

The Bible is God's message to us in human languages. [3] The Bible reveals what we must believe about God and what responsibilities He requires of us. The Bible alone teaches us how we can enjoy a relationship with God.

Do you want a relationship with God? Jesus said, "this is eternal life: To know the only true God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent." [4] The following pages will lead you through the teaching of the Bible how you can enjoy eternal life with God.

Footnotes

[1] Romans 1:19-20 - because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

[2] Romans 2:14-16 - For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness, and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them, on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.

[3] 2 Timothy 3:15 - and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

[4] John 17:3 - This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."
